There was a night last week when I had 2 hours of sleep…. It was a stressful day and sleep eluded me big time!
I awoke to…. puffy eyes, depression and some serious anxiety. My skin looked like dirt… dehydrated and gray. My joints felt seriously inflamed… I was achy all over…. And I had serious sugar cravings to boot. To say that it was a shitty day…. is an understatement. While I could hide most of my NO-SLEEP symptoms… my face told the true story. Sleep is something we take for granted… but when it is in short supply our beauty takes a real hit. Sleep is essential for beautiful skin, hair, nails and teeth. So what’s a sleepless girl to do? Pop on a bracelet? YES!!

I just received the “Active Edge” bracelet…. a beautiful woven bracelet with a seriously beautiful silver clasp. The Active Edge Bracelet has a proprietary process in which they have embedded low frequencies into the material. The benefits of exposing the human body to certain low frequencies are many. During clinical trials… many people reported a serious improvement in sleep. When worn… medical experts believe that the bracelet stimulates the sympathetic nervous system, which increases blood flow, oxygen intake and reduces inflammation… all benefits of a good nights sleep. I just received… so I promise to report back in on hopefully this genius little sleep bracelet!!

Now here’s where a great nights sleep get’s a little shaky…. Sleep can also hurt our faces in a serious way if we don’t sleep properly.

I read an article 20 years ago about how sleeping on your face can cause serious wrinkles and actually cause grooves in the skin where the pressure of the skin meets the pillow. From that moment on I swore to sleep with my head off the pillow. I started sleeping by resting my temple on my fist… so my facial skin never touched the pillow. VIOLA!! I succeeded for many years sleeping that way…. until recently…. where I go into what seams like a deeper sleep and I end up with my face mashed on the pillow. NOT GOOD!! What’s a face mashing girl and her readers to do? Sleep on your back and if you are a side sleeper…. you must use a pillow that allows your back and neck to take the pressure of our facial skin. One of my favorites and one I wrote about months back…. The Juverest Pillow.

So My Most Beautiful Readers…. While sleep is so important to our beauty…. so is sleeping properly. And I do promise to report back in on the “Active Edge” bracelet…. what could be a revolutionary way to induce sleep!!
OMG!! This might be what I’ve been looking/waiting for! In the last year or so, my sleep patterns have been terrible. I am averaging about 3-4 hours a night…..every night! It’s driving me crazy! I’ve tried several things and nothing has worked. I would love to try this! I will try anything at this point. I too will let you know what I think of the bracelet!! THANK YOU, Laura!!!
I will try anything to avoid wrinkles! I love my sleep and am having trouble sleeping through the night. I have solid sleep for 3-4 hours and wake up with wrinkles on my face from the pillow case……gross! I love that you read my mind…….FABULOUS!!!
I am a pretty good sleeper. I’ve been very lucky in that sense. I go to sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow and I stay asleep. But I have woken up in the morning with the lines of the pillow on my face. And wondered if that is doing any damage. Now I see that it might. I’m just not sure about sleeping with the wrinkle pillow. It doesn’t look very comfortable. But I could be wrong. I am willing to try it. I will look it up online.
Yes, this is exactly why they call it beauty sleep. We need 7-8 hours of sleep per night to feel and look our best. Sometimes you need to train yourself to go to bed earlier to achieve that goal. But very important for beauty! Sweet dreams!!
I too have a difficult time staying asleep. I go to sleep just fine, but wake up 2 hours later and then I’m up for most of the night. This just might be the ticket!!
This article is so perfect for me today! I have been suffering from a slight insomnia spell and the bags under my eyes tell the same story! At this point, I will try anything holistic!
I sleep great! I exercise regularly and eat right. I go to bed at a decent time at night and I wake up refreshed. It really does make a difference how you live your life. Beauty sleep is muy importante!!
I have not heard of the bracelets but I am willing to try them out for sure!
I have little ones (yes multiple) at home, so sleep isn’t a lot we get at my household. I know this will pass. But I do see a difference when I don’t get a full night’s sleep.
I HAVE to have one of these pillows.
With all of the stress I have at work I find I get way less sleep than I should. Anything you suggest is worth a try.
I went on their website and they have sleep shirts (with the same technology). I think I might go for that over the bracelet. I don’t really need the other benefits the bracelet provides, just help sleeping. The shirt is also a bit less expensive. I will let you all know how it works out!!
I just turned 35 and am starting to fret over wrinkles. I will have to look into this pillow to see if I can’t slow the ageing on my face down a little at least!
I need to have my sister read this blog. So has the worst time sleeping. I feel so bad for her!
What a brilliant idea. I never knew they had a pillow that helps with facial wrinkles.
I don’t have sleeping problems, but didn’t even think about the pillow giving you facial wrinkles. Yikes! I love my pillow, it’s very important to me. I’m not sure I could sleep with this fancy pillow. I may have to take my chances and not worry about it. So far, so good!
Ooooo, I can use that bracelet for many reasons! I love the colors they offer and they are cool looking so at least you don’t look like you are wearing a “healing” bracelet!
Sleep gets more and more important to me the older I get.
I wonder why it is that the older you get, the less sleep you seem to need.
Great information!! I must look into both pillow and bracelet!
I am a newer fan of your page so I missed your earlier blog about the pillow. Thank you for recapping on a wonderful item!
Sleep is an amazing thing. After I had a very bad accident, I literally slept for 2 months straight and it was just my body recouping and healing. Your body tells you what you need.
I have a friend who says the reason she has deep wrinkles on her chest is from always sleeping in the fetal position so this makes sense that sleeping on your face can potentially cause wrinkles too. CRAZY!
I have heard of the bracelets that help with joint problems but a bracelet that helps with sleep? That’s money well spent!
I am a back sleeper so hopefully this will at least slow the wrinkles down.
The pillow is a much better idea than purchasing a bunch of duck tape and taping my face tight before going to bed!
Sleep is so important as you said. Lack of good REM sleep can effect you in so many ways. Your body actually does function better with lots of sleep.
Uggg, I could have used this bracelet last night! I am ordering one ASAP! I can’t take it anymore! I have dark bags under my eyes….not so attractive! 🙁
I’ve tried everything from lavender, sleeping pills, magnesium spray, hot bath, warm milk, so on & so on and nothing seems to work for me. I didn’t realize how many people have this problem with sleep until I did some investigating. This is a big problem for many. I am going to invest in both the bracelet and the sleep shirt (on the website) and cross my fingers. I’ve spent a lot of money and time trying to figure out a solution. I think my body has gotten used to little sleep and that is not good. I feel it during the day and I certainly look like I have a lack of sleep! Thanks for the suggestions!!
I had no idea there was such a pillow! This is a must for me. I’m working hard (and spending plenty) on trying not to maximize my wrinkles. Is this comfortable to sleep with?
Sleep is way overrated!!! At least that’s what I tell myself! 🙁
