This luxurious light and dewy finish foundation is illuminated with particles of light reflecting mica and translucent pigments helping it instantly assimilate to the skin. The lightweight formula goes on sheer and can be built up depending on the coverage needed. My ultra dry skin was nourished with a special blend of moisturizing agents and conditioning vitamins…. leaving my skin hydrated and glowing! 15 colors to mix, match and blend… Two thumbs up for this silken and sophisticated foundation!

Holiday Party Season What to Drink by Laura Dunn

YAY!! It’s official!!! The Holiday Party Season is here! With so many parties…. and so many cocktail choices….. let’s drink safe and smart this holiday season. Champagne…. festive, sexy and usually the number one hostess cocktail choice for holiday parties. But is it the best drink for us? No. Champagne contains acetaldehyde…. a by product of the fermentation process…. which causes some serious hangover symptoms. Headache, nausea and body aches.

According to Wilkie Wilson, Ph.D., professor of prevention at the Social Science Research Institute at Duke University….. sipping cocktails made with clear alcohol…. tequila, vodka or gin…. is a much better choice. Stay away from the sugary mixers which can also cause those nasty hangover symptoms.

I was on a recognizance mission with my beautiful friend Dawn Ann Billings…. to check out her new home in Red Lodge, Montana. While in town…. we spied a coyote head purse. A real live coyote head was taken and made into a purse! At first I was absolutely horrified…. Until I realized I had brought my Beverly Hills belief system to Montana. This really was the wild west. When I asked the store owner what is was all about…. she explained to me that they don’t go out and kill the animals…. but rather they take coyotes that have died naturally or been killed by cars and use the fur. Much better than actually killing for fur. Any-hooo….. At that point I became very aware that I was a visitor in another land…. and when in Montana… I had to respect how they lived and their belief systems…

Moral of the story: Different lands (even in the United States) have different belief systems…. and when visiting foreign places who am I am to judge how other people live.

I had the absolute pleasure…. of attending the “TOMS for Target” shopping event on November 12th, at the Book Bindery in Culver City. And what an amazing evening it was! Target decorated the space to resemble a very Christmasy, log cabin and each of the shopping areas (5 in all) had a “teepee” pop up… hosting selected items for that grouping. Womens, Mens, Boys, Girls and a Home shopping area were present…. representing everything in the line. We were able to pre-shop that evening…. all while….. dining on fabulous comfort food and drink…. getting our photos taken in a “group” sweater….. doing a DYI ornament and craft…. listening to a really fun band…. and of course….shop! Blake Mycoskie gave a great speech about TOMS mission…. making the evening…. the perfect event! – Laura Dunn

My outfit was purchased at the event (except sunglasses and leggings). The crew neck sweater has threads of gold metallic running throughout…. making it appropriate for day or evening. I picked the the simplest of all the shoes… the black faux leather with canvas sides….. added in the rocking poncho with an American Indian graphic on the back… and I am thinking my 3 pieces make for a really fun look!!

The Black Lace Dress by Laura Dunn

Another amazing find from our friends at Anat B! This black lace cocktail dress comes in at $29.00 and the compliments I received when I wore to a dinner this past Saturday evening…. were so insane that even I was surprised! Starting with the hostess of the restaurant…. who squealed with delight when I walked in the door…. to our friends that we were dining with…. to the two different men on my way to the ladies room who wanted to buy the dress for their wives!

I kept it very simple and added in no accessories… except my Harry Winston watch and a beautiful pair of Casadei satin peep toe pumps. So much look…. so little money!!
