2014 started out as the year of the “Crown” at Dolce Gabbana. Dolce featured some pretty stately, jewel encrusted crowns….. that were about as gorgeous as it gets. This year crowns are popping up everywhere…. in many different shapes and forms….. and hopefully here to stay for awhile. We are featuring two crowns today… one by Michael Costello and one purchased in Bali at an authentic Balinese store. Our Michael Costello crown was part of his 2015 Spring Collection…. and is absolutely divine in person. While there are no jewels… the metal work speaks for itself and allows the true beauty of the crown to shine through. We featured it with a Thomas Wylde leather and fur short sleeve jacket.
Our Balinese Crown was purchased for 25.00 in Bali and ties in the back with a rubber band. I will be switching it out with a beautiful velvet ribbon. It’s grand and is worn for many different Balinese ceremonies in Bali. Back in Los Angeles…. it’s worn as a serious fashion statement! We paired our Balinese crown with a silk and crystal Kaufman Franco vest and a Chanel logo pin.

Not very happy with Dolce & Gabbana these days…. You do look Splendid in these.
The Balinese one is gorgeous!
Wow! Beautiful! But I’m not the crown wearing type. I love that it came from your experience in Bali! It makes the crown even more special!
You look like a beautiful royal! The crowns are gorgeous and so are you!
I’d wear a crown if I transformed into a total Beauty like you!!!
My daughter and I have matching crowns. We wear them when we go out for family dinners and such. It’s actually really fun!
I didn’t realize they were so on trend right now. I’m going to get one and wear it proudly!
Every girl deserves to look & feel like a queen for an evening! I would love to wear a crown out & about.
Omg Laura D!
Where was this trend five years ago! Ugh I would have been alllllllll over this! So great I hope you are getting yourself the Dolce one too!
Crowns are my “thing”! I have a couple that I have collected in my travels. But I also have several other things that have “crowns” on them. I just love them!!
HELLLLOOO ROYALTY! You look super-glam.
Crown me, please!! I’d like one with lots of bling!
I feel like the Lord song “Royals” should be playing! Love it.
Ohhhh, I love it!! It suites you well! You look fabulous!
Way to rock this…looks super cute with your short hair!
I am not that into gold but I am sure I can find similar styles in a silver color!
This is one of the reasons I love traveling to new countries…you can always integrate other cultures into your very own style!
This looks like a fun project that I can do with my 5 Daughters. It would be fun play-date to go to Michaels craft store and buy a bunch of rhinestones, glitter and decorations to keep the girls busy on a Saturday afternoon making their own crowns!
I am a little shy to maybe rock this crown just any day but for a party or a fun occasion I could really get noticed!
I think the second ANY girl puts a crown on, she immediately feels like a queen!
I used to be obsessed with a certain crown when I was in high school but like most trends it faded. I am SO glad to see this make a comeback…I am going to storage tonight to reinvent this look!
I think I am going to go downtown and see if I can’t find a cute little headpiece in Chinatown or Little India!
What is fun about crowns are that there are so many different shapes and styles that you can get one or 10 and really have fun!
You are too cute! The faux fur sleeves really add a certain fabulousness to the crown and whole outfit!
You look like royalty! Absolutely stunning! You wear it well!
All glam, all the time!
I really fancy the Thomas Wylde peplum leather jacket…tres chic.
You have more fashion sense in your fingertip than I have in my whole body!
Since Mother’s Day is right around the corner, I’m thinking of making my Mom a fabulous crown to wear to brunch with the family!
I usually wear a Crown only on my birthday but I am ready to wear it more often!
I think every girl dreams of being a princess and wearing an extravagant crown with luxurious jewels and stones. But this allows you to rock a crown and not be weighed down with heavy adornments!
If anyone is hesitant on wearing a crown, you can do what I did…start with a cool gold rose like the one shown above and slowly work your way up to bigger and more glamorous styles!
Crowns, large hats and fascinators are the way to really show your style!
